Since its creation, Van Cleef & Arpels has always been fascinated by nature. In the House's animal kingdom, the adorable ladybug has always been a symbol of good fortune. Over the years, the ladybug has been featured on the House's charm bracelets and brooches with its unique and dynamic shape. This year, the House has once again illustrated this favorite theme with the new Coccinelles collection, where the warmth of rose gold meets the bright colors of enamel on the Coccinelles brooch and the Coccinelles Between the Fingers ring, adding to the glamorous world of the House, as well as the vibrant and timeless nature of the ladybugs. The new Coccinelles collection is a new and exciting way to express the vitality and timelessness of nature.

The new Coccinelles collection is a continuation of the Van Cleef & Arpels collection.
The new Coccinelles collection continues Van Cleef & Arpels' poetic interpretation of the beauty of nature, and for the first time incorporates the art of enameling into modern jewelry creations. In keeping with its long-established know-how, the Maison has developed a special shade of red for the ladybug in this collection. The enamel, made from a careful blend of silica powder and pigments, is delicately applied to metal, glass or ceramic surfaces, and then fired repeatedly in a high-temperature furnace to create a deep and dynamic color. Since the House was founded in 1906, the art of enameling has been the soul of each and every one of its creations, thanks to its precision and meticulousness.
In the Coccinelles collection, the enamel is inlaid, with gold grooves carved out and then filled with layers of enamel. The full, curved hemisphere of the ladybug, which makes the application and firing of the enamel particularly difficult, is a perfect example of the House's exceptional enameling skills, and a demonstration of the House's métier d'art mastery. The three-dimensional structure of the enamel creates an extraordinary beauty, with deep, bright red colors that leap between the motifs. Each stroke of the enamel, each flame, is the result of the craftsmen's obsessive pursuit of perfection, giving life and artistic beauty to their creations.
These two new creations are the culmination of the craftsmanship of jewelry making and the work of the House's artisans. The structures are cast in France, using the lost wax casting method. After the enameling process, the wings are returned to the jewelry workshop and then assembled. The guilloche of the brooch and the mirror-polished finish of the ring are crafted in gold, giving the piece a dynamic touch that mirrors the delicate beauty of the stones. The onyx head harmonizes with the enameled body, while the diamonds and rose gold elements bring the ladybug to life. In accordance with the House's exacting standards, stones of color grades D to F and clarity grades IF to VVS have been selected to highlight the sparkle of the piece. The diamonds on the ladybug motif are set in a closed setting, perfectly aligned with onyx and enamel, and set in white and rose gold, demonstrating the House's expertise in jewelry.
